Specialties

  • Anxiety

    Anxiety is a natural response to stress, but for many, it can feel overwhelming and impact daily life. I work with individuals experiencing different types of anxiety including panic attacks, social anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, phobias, and generalized anxiety. These challenges can show up as constant worry, avoidance, physical symptoms, or persistent, unwanted thoughts.

    Therapy helps you understand your anxiety and support you in finding ways to navigate it, so you can feel more at ease in your life.

  • Truama

    Trauma can leave a lasting impact, effecting the way you see yourself, others, and the world around you. I support individuals who have experienced childhood or developmental trauma, abusive relationships, distressing events, and complex grief. Often, trauma shows up as emotional overwhelm, difficulty trusting, intrusive memories, or a sense of disconnection.

    My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space where you can process your experiences, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of safety and wholeness in your life.

  • Chronic Illness

    Living with chronic illness is an ongoing challenge, affecting not only your physical health but also your emotional well-being and sense of self. I work with individuals navigating the complexities of chronic conditions, including autoimmune diseases, pain management, and long-term health struggles. Often, chronic illness brings feelings of frustration, isolation, or loss of control.

    I have found that many of my anxiety and trauma clients also experience chronic illness. I want to offer support in addressing the emotional impact of that unique overlap.

  • Parenting Support (Kids ages 3-9 Coming Soon!)

    While I am working from home, I have paused my work with kid clients. I can still support your family by seeing you as a parent! Let’s talk child development, your experience of childhood and parenting, and any challenges you may be having with your kiddo.

    I see kids for the same concerns that bring adults to my office - anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, and significant life changes like moving, a new sibling, starting school, etc.

    Parents typically bring kids in for behavioral concerns. Tantrums, shutting down, and acting out are often related to an underlying environmental or emotional need. I work alongside parents to support and problem solve while providing play therapy to the child client (read more below).

  • Other Experience

    Anxiety, Trauma, Chronic Illness, and young clients are my specialties. Please know I also have extensive experience and joy in working with other populations:

    LGBTQ+, autism spectrum and other neurodivergent experiences, depression, self harm, and suicidal ideation.

  • I believe in a collaborative approach in therapy - you are the expert on you!

    I primarily utilize a Gestalt theoretical perspective. This focuses on increasing clients’ awareness and self-understanding, so they are better able to navigate life’s difficulties in ways that feel genuine to them.

    I enjoy incorporating aspects of mindfulness, somatic techniques, and your special interests (film, art, reading, music, and gaming just to name a few - let's get creative)!

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that helps you process and heal from painful memories or experiences that might still feel overwhelming. By using gentle, guided eye movements or other forms of bilateral stimulation, EMDR can reduce the emotional weight of past events, so you can move forward with greater ease.

    It is a researched based, safe approach to building tolerance and resilience. I went through training for EMDR in 2021 and have seen it be a tangible and relieving treatment for so many! That being said, it is a little difficult to wrap your head around at first. To learn more about how EMDR works and the process itself visit EMDRIA’s website.

  • CCPT, or Child Centered Play Therapy is a specific intervention of Play Therapy, the developmentally appropriate mental health counseling treatment for children. Play is considered a child’s primary way of learning and communicating - therefore we use this medium along with traditional counseling practices to meet children where they are at.

    I meet with child clients in-person, once a week, in a specifically designed play room which allows for them to process their unique experiences. I meet with parents (without the child) for the initial intake appointment as well as every 5-6 weeks for parent consultations regarding progress updates and parent support.
